WHO WE ARE.
Paolo Bassanetti, was born in Vicenza, Italy, on May 3, 1971. At a very young age, he attended high school in Cambridge and Brighton and then returned to Italy where he attended classical high school. After a year at the Faculty of Zaragoza, he graduated in Parma with a degree in economics and business.
But it was in Spain that, in addition to buying some guitars, following up on the path begun many years earlier at the Conservatory of Parma, he trained professionally in the Madrid office of Crown Cork & Seal as Assistant Sales and Marketing Director. After a few years he returned to Italy, where he became head of management control of the sales and marketing area of Henkel Italiana – Perfume Division. In 2001, in Parma, he shapes his passion for communication by creating the 0521 agency, which over the years creates advertising campaigns for numerous brands including: Ministry of the Environment, Ascom, Cofesercenti, Cna, Api Idustria, IP Italiana Petroli spa, Barilla spa, Comune di Parma, PPG Industries, Cariparma spa, Guru, Arquati, Bormioli Rocco, Randstad, Fiere di Parma, Parmacotto, Caritas Italiana, Coccinelle, Unione Industriali, Gazzetta di Parma and others. From his meeting with Dario Alesani and Umberto Mauri, creative directors of Young & Rubicam, he gave birth to BAM in 2015.

Dario Alesani was born in Grado on April 24, 1969. 1990 – Thanks to winning a Lombardy Region competition, he attended the three-year Copywriting course at the Academy of Communication in Milan.
1993 – Graduates best copy by winning the scholarship: “Cuccioli” of the Italian Art Directors Club, which takes him to Mc Cann Erickson (where he goes to the finals of the Radiofestival award with UPS radios), then to Lionheart and finally to Pirella, where he will be hired. Together with Umberto Mauri he goes to Verba DDB, then to Lowe Lintas Pirella Goettsche as creative director, then to Y&R. In these years they became one of the most prolific and award-winning couples on the Italian scene. Some of their commercials reached the short list at the Cannes Film Festival. 2006 – Wins the Corriere della sera’s “In sixty lines” writing contest. A year later he publishes his first book “Stories that end soon,” followed by his first novel “Musodicane.” He writes jokes for Gino and Michele published in Ants and also in the latest edition of Cicadas (ed. Kowalski). 2015 – Joined by Umberto Mauri and Paolo Bassanetti, he founds BAM, an advertising agency with offices in Parma and Milan. Plays tennis, inveterate windsurfer and kitesurfer, loves photography and reading. He is writing a movie for Hollywood, a TV series with De Niro, a play for Brodway and the new U.S. Constitution. The only thing he doesn’t like to write is a resume, but only because you can’t make anything up….

Umberto Mauri was born in Carate Brianza on October 11, 1968. 1986 – Graduates from the Art Institute of Monza. Soon after, he won the competition held by the Lombardy Region for the branding of Milan’s North Park.
1991 – Enter as art director at Pirella Goettsche: in these years if you thought anything could happen, anything incredibly happened. Advertising is a rich, fascinating world populated by original people. Emanuele Pirella is considered a guru and his agency the most sought-after destination for those who want to emerge in the creative world. 1998 – Moved to Verba DDB where he continued his association with copywriter Dario Alesani, winning all editions of the national “Young Lions” award in which they participated and several other industry trophies in Italy and abroad. 2000 – Returned to Pirella Goettsche as deputy creative director and after merging with Lintas, became creative director of Lowe Lintas Pirella Goettsche. 2005 – Moved to Y&R as creative director and then opened BAM in 2015. Many of his works are published in Italian and foreign Annuals, in trade journals and online. The clients he has worked for range from automobiles (Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo, Alfa Romeo, Maserati) to supermarkets (Sma, Coop, Despar) to publishing (l’Espresso, Repubblica) to food (Barilla, Parmacotto, Rio Mare). In addition to the clients followed in the newspaper, he has won several pitches including: Telecom, Maserati, Coop, British Telecommunication, Infostrada, Intesa Trade, Wulevù, Bliss Gioielli, Sector, l’Espresso, Poste Italiane, Seat Pagine Gialle, Averna, Rio Mare. He cultivates a passion for painting, graphic design and photography, occasionally exhibiting his works in Milan galleries.
